How much does it cost to regrout a shower?
The cost depends on the size of the job and what's included. Here's what changes the price, so you can compare quotes properly. Our inspection and quote are free, so you'll get an exact price for your shower.

What affects the price
- Area: the shower floor only, the walls as well or the whole bathroom
- Tile size: small tiles and mosaics have far more grout lines than large tiles
- Grout type: epoxy grout costs more than standard grout but holds out water and stains better
- Silicone: how many corners, junctions and screen lines need resealing
- Condition: loose or cracked tiles must be fixed before regrouting
- Sealing: whether a penetrating sealer goes on the grout to help stop leaks, as well as to improve the look
Cost to regrout a shower floor
Regrouting just the floor is the smallest job, and often the most useful. The floor stays wet longest and usually fails first.
Cost to regrout a bathroom
A whole bathroom adds the floor outside the shower and any wall tiles. It costs more overall.
Shower resealing and silicone replacement cost
If only the silicone has failed, resealing the corners, hob and screen is a smaller job than a regrout. It's often done at the same time as a regrout to save a second visit.
Comparing quotes
Check that each quote states the area, whether the old grout is fully cut out (not grouted over), the grout type, the silicone work, whether the surface is sealed and what's excluded.
Is regrouting cheaper than a renovation?
Almost always, by a wide margin, and you keep using your bathroom.
