Shower regrouting and grout repairs in Sydney
Old grout cracks, stains and lets water through. Shower regrouting replaces it with fresh, sealed grout, so the shower looks clean again and water stays out from behind the tiles. We regrout showers, bathrooms, laundries and outdoor tiles across Sydney, with epoxy grout where it suits the job.
When it's time to regrout
- Grout that's cracked, crumbling or missing
- Black mould in the grout lines that won't clean off
- Grout worn down below the edge of the tiles
- Silicone that has peeled, split or gone mouldy
- Damp or water marks outside the shower
How we regrout and seal a shower
- Cut out the old grout to an even depth.
- Clean out the joints so the new grout bonds properly.
- Regrout the walls and floor with a wet-area grout or epoxy grout.
- Replace the silicone at the corners, hob, floor junctions and screen.
- Seal the grout so it holds out water and stains.
If your shower is already leaking, regrouting alone may not stop it. Our leaking shower repairs add resealed movement joints and a penetrating sealer on the grout. See how we fix leaking showers.
Is epoxy grout worth it for a shower?
Epoxy grout soaks up far less water than standard cement-based grout. It resists mould and staining and holds its colour longer, which makes it a good choice for shower floors and other areas that stay wet. It costs more and takes more skill to lay, so we'll tell you at the inspection whether it's worth it for your shower.
Grout waterproofing and sealing
Standard grout soaks up water. Sealing the grout in a shower slows that down, keeps the grout cleaner and helps protect the bed underneath. We seal every regrout we do. Where it suits the tile, we seal the tiles too.
Bathroom regrouting and silicone replacement
We regrout bathroom and ensuite floors and walls, laundries, toilets and kitchen splashbacks. We also replace hardened silicone with fresh, flexible sealant around hobs, step-downs and shower screens.
Grout and tile cleaning
Not all dirty grout needs replacing. If the grout is sound but stained, a deep clean and seal can bring it back. We clean tiles and grout in bathrooms, on balconies and paths and in other outdoor areas. At the inspection we'll tell you whether cleaning will do or regrouting is needed.
How much does it cost to regrout a shower?
The cost depends on the size of the shower, which areas need regrouting (floor, walls or both), the grout type and the silicone work. Epoxy costs more than standard grout. Regrouting just the shower floor costs less than the whole shower. Read what affects the cost of regrouting a shower. The inspection and quote are free.

Regrouting questions
How often should grout be replaced?
There's no set timeline. Replace it when it's cracked, missing or letting water through. Sealing helps it last longer.
Can you regrout over the old grout?
No. New grout over old grout doesn't bond and soon cracks. We cut the old grout out first.
Can you replace a few cracked tiles?
Yes, where we can match or source replacement tiles. We'll check at the inspection.
Is regrouting enough to fix a leaking shower?
Sometimes. If water is already getting through, see how we fix leaking showers.
Do you seal the tiles as well as the grout?
Where it suits the tile, yes. We'll tell you if your tiles need it.
